Thyroid once got always have.

It seems impossible to ever get under a certain weight, and was wondering if others find this the same.
I can loose a half stone, but thats it, suppose I should be very grateful that i can loose anything, but when you have a wardrobe with blouses that you just cant get into, because of weight gain due to thyroid prob, it just seems unjust.

I wonder has anyone ever had any result in loosing weight and if so how?

I can manage to keep of the half stone but if I do happen to loose a few pound more with a great deal of effort on my part, it wont stay of, it goes back on faster than it came of.

Thank you if you happen to write with info regarding this.
Lordbless you.

I think ppl with hashi forget there can be other contributing factors such as genetics, lack of diet(good) and exercise. I have the antibodies as does my endo and several friends. Some of them are skinny some are overweight, the ones who are overweight( out of my friends) they don't work out and eat whatever. This is not a slam to them, just my observation. I myself am a size 4, and that's after giving birth to 6 kids, youngest 5 yro. I workout and eat somewhat sensibly. If levels are normal weight gain may be the cause of something else.

Most of us find that we can lose weight easier, once our thyroid levels get to the right point for us; though some of us do have to work at it.

If you look at the list of typical hypo symptoms in this link, do you have others besides the one you mentioned, of possibly low metabolism?

It will also help if you will post your thyroid test results and their reference ranges shown on the lab report, so that members can assess the adequacy of testing and see where results fall within their ranges.
