My wife is having a problem with her thyroid. She has had some test done and they have found that her left side is cold not working and her right side is enlargedEnlarged adenoids Enlarged prostate and has some nodules in it. However her blood test are normalNormal saline flush. She had a FNA done last week with the following. The FNA results talk about a lesion classified as a follicular neoplasm due to the increased cellularity and lack of features suggesting a hyperplastic module. Cytologic atypia is not present. Follicular adenoma should be ruled out. Her doctor firstFirst progesterone mc10 First progesterone mc5 First-progesterone vgs 100 First-progesterone vgs 200 First-progesterone vgs 25 First-progesterone vgs 400 First-progesterone vgs 50 First-testosterone First-testosterone mc told her that means that her nodules were cancerous. After we questioned him about the report he called the pathologist and asked if they would take another look at the samples. The next day we spoke with our doctor and he said that the pathologist now thinks that it is not cancerous. Our doctor is now sending her to get a PET scan. He said this will give us a better answer. He also told her that if this test result came back negative that he would not remove her thyroid. That even though one side is not working, the right side that has the nodules is doing the job and would not be taken out.
I hope we are on the right track. Any input would be appreciated.
