No they weren't all done in the same day. They were done the first one in Sept. . 2011. The next in Dec. 2012. Then one in July 2013 and my last in May 2014. I do have symptoms of hypothyroidism. I'm gaining weight, hair falling out, headaches, tired all the time and just aching bones and muscle cramps.
They reported it backwards... the 0.465 - 4.88 is the reference range. Your results are the 1.370, 1.890, 1.610 and 1.180. Those weren't all done on the same day, were they?
For the T4 test, the reference range is 0.78 - 2.19 and your result is 0.91. When was the T4 done?
Your last TSH is creeping on up, and your T4 is quite low in the range... Do you symptoms of hypothyroidism? If so, which ones?
They did it four different times
1. .270-4.200 value 1.370
2. .465-4.88 value 1.890
3. .465-4.88 value 1.610
4. .465-4.88 value 3.180
And one T4 test
1. 0.78-2.19 value .91
Not sure what it all means
Is TSH the only thing that was tested?
Do you have a copy of the report? If so, it should say TSH, then a number and the reference range is usually beside that number, often in parenthesis.
Something like this:
TSH x.xx (x.xx - x.xx)
That is the only numbers I was given. How do I find out the actual number?
Most labs use a range of 0.45-4.50 or something similar. About 12 yrs ago, AACE and ATA recommended that TSH range be changed to 0.3-3.0, however, most labs, therefore doctors have slow to adopt the change.
What was your actual result?
