Thyroid testing

I am going to get my first blood tests for my thyroid this morning. I have an enlarged thyroid and other symptons. Can I drink a little bit of coffee before my test? The receptionist at my doctor's office said to fast but liquids were okay? I never asked about coffee. Can anyone help? Thanks

Thanks everybody! I cheated a little and had some coffee! I absolutely have to have my morning coffee or I can't function!! The guy at the lab told me it is unnecessary for the type of test I was getting. So it ended up working out. Thanks again!

They never tell me to fast, and agree have to have my coffee and I dont know what I am gonna do Monday as I cannot have nothing after midnite Sunday, Whaaaaaaaaaaa.

I have coffee before my test, as long as its for thyroid only.

Instructions on my blood test order states "non-fasting", so I assume that inludes coffee, and don't care if it doesn't, I got to have my coffee.

You'll be ok with coffee, but if in doubt, call the doctor office and ask.
