Thyroid

I am on 125 mg of Levothyroxine and I am still at a11.9 thyroid level. Is this a bad level. I cannot lose weight and it is adding to my already fighting battle with depression all problems I did not have prior to a thyroid problem. This has been going on for 2 years!!

If 11.9 is your TSH level, you are probably going to need a higher dose of medication. you need to consult your endocrinologist on that. and you need not worry about your weight, once your thyroid hormone levels are normal, your weight will get corrected by itself. It obviously wont go away overnight, it will take some time but it will be corrected. and no matter what, always remember to keep your head up.

Hey camma37.
Check with an "old fashion" specialist, who takes a holistic approach and still believes in REAL thyroid supplementation vs synthetic.

Goolara was  right to point you to the right direction, however,
you may NOT  be undermedicated, but rather WRONG medicated.
It needs to be checked out thoroughly-likely- by a more open specialist.
Unfortunately there are not too many around.
And this is just my opinion.

Cheers!
Niko

If 11.9 is your TSH level, it's quite high, indicating that you might be hypothyroid (undermedicated).  Does your doctor test FREE T3 and FREE T4 as well as TSH?  Those are the actual thyroid hormones and much more important than TSH in diagnosing and treating thyroid disease.  Your symptoms sound very hypo.

If you have FT3 and FT4 levels, please post them along with reference ranges, which vary lab to lab and have to come from your own lab report.

We aren't medical professionals on the community here, but 11.9 is probably a number that would give you hypo symptoms for sure.   I hope others on the community may be able to give you some thoughts to ask your doctor about.

What's he/she saying at this time in your treatment?  I'd say your concerns are very valid in my opinion.
