Thyroid?

Hi!
Iam a 17 year old female.
A few weeks ago I came down with a cold.Week voice,sore throat,the usual works of a cold....and I felt my neck only to feel a Lump!I figured it was just Lymph nodes.Its on the right side of my neck and it moves when I swallow and yawn.
I have been constantly feeling it since that day...And just a few days ago I read something that said if you rub on lymph nodes like that they wont go back down.Just my luck...
I went to the doctor last year because I thought I felt somthing then...But it was nothing.They did blood work and a scan.All they told me was I had an enlarged thyroid.My mom also has an enlarged thyroid.
We have no family history of cancer.Just my uncle...He has lung cancer and its spread alot already...hes still alive but not cured...
I dont smoke nor do I drink.
I have no difficulties swallowing,my voice is normal,I havent lost weight...I just dont know.
I really hope whatever it is it will go dow on its own...I pray to god every night...
