I am almost 39 and just know that the cm is centimeters of the mass. Very new to this.
One month is fine. It is very slow growing. I, however, would take a good long look at the FNA biopsy pathology report and perhaps get a second opinion. I pushed for surgery when mine came back inconclusive and am now having regrets about having had the surgery. Mine turned out to be benign in the end and I've had a lot of symptoms since I had the surgery. Make sure you have the slides read by a different pathologist at a different institution so that there is no bias. Go to a different surgeon at a comprehensive cancer center level. This doctor will request that you bring your slides to be reviewed by the pathologist at that institution. If the original pathology department gives you a hard time about getting your slides, remind them that they are your slides and you are entitled to them. Take the month to do your research. Your insurance company more than likely will cover a second opinion. There really is no rush so make the time productive and be sure that this is the right step before you do it. Once your thyroid is gone - well it's gone and there is no turning back. Good luck!
Hello there! I was just wondering how old you are and if you know what the size cm indicates or not. I was just told I have a 2cm goiter.
