Glad to hear from you. :)  You keep after them until they listen!!  Took me over 4 yrs to find a dr to seriously listen to me when I told them something still wasn't right.  So you keep fighting!!  Don't ever give up, you are the only you there ever will be and nobody deserves anything but the best!  If you been reading all the posts that Nyxie's had on here you'll know she's been fighting away, too, and today she won one of her biggest battles. Someone listened.  Don't ever give up! =)

For the scar, you should try Myderma.  My sister-in-law was in a motorcycle accident and almost lost her leg.  Was a horrible mangled mess with thousands of ghastly looking stitches trying to put her leg back together.  Kinda looked like Frankenstein.  When all of the scabs came off we started (I took care of her) putting Myderma on her scars twice a day and now you can barely see where they were!  The stuff is amazing!!!!!

Keep us posted.

I'm so glad to hear from you! I know I shouldn't actually be posting on the thyroid site now since I am still nowhere near diagnosed with anything, but I feel as if I know everyone just from reading so much the last couple months. And I swear when all is said and done, the problem will be in that area. And it's good to hear someone say "keep at them". My husband and friend think I should just let it go and whatever the dr says is the final word tomorrow. Although they don't have their voice stop in mid sentence for no reason. Advice is easy to give when it ain't you you're talkin about!! Anyway, i will keep reading on here and let everyone know what I find out for sure tomorrow. I didn't get a chance to talk to him after surgery, so I have a few questions for him. like, if you're a specialist, then WHAT IS WRONG IN MY NECK!????!!! Have a good night everyone!! Oh yeah, they were telling me the thyroid is up in the middle of your throat, I can CLEARLY see mine come up from the little indentation near my collarbone when I swallow. CLEARLY see two lobes move up and down on each side. I don't even have to put my neck back to see them. Some expert he is.

I wish you lived near me .. my surgeon (ENT) was absolutely awesome .... he even did some kind of pioneering surgery on a thyroid of some sort if I recall ... he had his removed as a child he told me .. that is where the listening/passion human skills come into play along with having done 900 thyroidectomies.

YOU KEEP at it until you get an answer .. it is not normal to feel a pebble or scratch in your throat and it is NOT IN YOUR HEAD .... remember my lump above my incision .. it was on the outside the size of a small pea and I kept saying how tight it was, etc., etc. and nobody listened other than to look @ it and say "oh it's nothing" until it started growing out and then they looked, listened and reacted and turned out scar tissue was growing inside near my trachea and it was appearing on the outside and that is why it was TIGHT TIGHT TIGHT and they kept saying it was from the thyroid surgery incision and THEY WERE WRONG!!!!!  So listen to your heart and don't let them fool you if you aren't satisfied go see that Dr. .. maybe do it in steps and go and then go back for blood draws etc and ask for a discount ... I've learned to put my pride aside and ask for discounts .. the worst they can say is "no" ... :)

Cheryl - Infected Granuloma above thyroid incision 1/07 - 3/07 size of a raspberry but BENIGN!!!  .. partial thyroidectomy 1/07 .. 2 small areas of fully encapsulated papillary cancer found after frozen section biopsy .. orig. nodules were totally benign.

Oh my gosh! Thank you for thinking about me!! Seriously. The surgery went fine and the Dr told everyone that the lymph node looked okay. I go tomorrow to get the final path report and to get my stiches out. It's a big, nasty cut. I had known he wouldn't really look much into why it feels like I have sand or a pebble in my neck when I talk( I think he thinks it's in my head), he just told my family he thought I may have a pulled muscle, he couldn't tell. He did another scope INSIDE my throat.( i said it was from outside) He said he would look at my thyroid while I was asleep "if it would make me feel better", but he didn't. I was so afraid to wake up because I was scared of what I would hear. I am still nervous, although I am pretty sure if something was up, he would have known. or at least warned me.
My best friend went to the dr for a sore back and she got EVERY test you can imagine(even urine). She called me and was like"you are gonna be mad, all those thyroid tests you asked for(total hypo symptoms, now am opposite and hot and sweaty bouncing off the walls, been that way since my throat swelled up a few weeks ago,but am not gonna ask for more tests anymore)  but couldn't get, my new dr gave them to me and all I had was a sore back!" So she is going to set me up an appt in a few weeks when I get some extra money to blow on my health. I just found it odd to go to a specialist and him not even TOUCH my neck! I hear people have nodules all the time that ct scans don't pick up. So anyway, that's where I stand. As far as I know today, I am perfectly healthy(except for the mind: )!  I will know more tomorrow around 1:00. So keep me in your thoughts one more day, please.I know I don't sound grateful, I am. I really, truly am. I just wanted to wake up with answers to everything, I guess. But anyway, Thank God for good news so far!!!
