I am also on celexa. The first few weeks dont always seem like it is working but after a while you feel way way way better. But unfortunantly I have been noticing a lot of changes this year so i may have to change my medication. But I have been serching Thyroid and it actually fits most of my symptoms of this past year. So any info you can give me would be great!
I know the fear from losing a parent to cancer .. my dad passed away 17yrs ago from pancreatic cancer. A few weeks ago when I started to urinate cola colored urine and fully blood urine I had a terrible thought and flashback back to this is how my dad had his first symptom out of the blue .... I was very releived when I found out that the cola was old blood and I had a bad urinary tract infection from passing known kidney stones. So I do know how you feel and wanted to say I understand and the med may help keep things in their perspective to get you thru this for you and your son!!!! I took Ativan for about 4 weeks before the surgery and then again about 2 weeks post op as I had a very hard time accepting my small cancer diagnosis ... but it helped me and I'm off it completely now ....... that and TIME .. time does heal alot :)

I have been on celexa for 6 years and It has been a life saver.I am bi-polar and the depression I hve had in the past has made me suicidal.
The celexa allows me to function normally.I still feel all my emotions .just not with the extreme reactions I used to have. Also the celexa helped me through my hypohell last month.
You should start to feel a difference in about a week..In about 4 weeks you will feel like a new person.
Good luck

Hi! I am more upbeat. You know how it is, even if something suks, you get used to it. I have a life to live and a really cool kid who can't have a mom laying in bed worrying about swollen glands!! I am still TERRIFIED, but I'm here and I'm not going down easily!!
My neck feels better than it did, still tight as heck, but managable! And my mood has improved, partly because I see the e.n.t. this week, who hopefully will take the nodes OFF MY BODY THAT DAY!! Seriously. Take those mothers off me.
I didn't know you are so new to thyroid probs. I read almost every archive on here this week.I am sorry you have to go through all you have to. You seem like a wonderful person. And you give great advice in a positive way. Oh yeah, I have another gland behind my ear now! You think my mood is better, it's only because I am slowly going to the land of the crazies!! A lady I clean for has a hairstylist who had a recurrence of breast cancer, she didn't know anything was wrong except for the gland on her neck and one on her head. That's what got my mom.And she was young. So yeah, I am still freaking majorly, I just chose to take this pill to see i fit will help until I get straightened out! Good luck to you. I don't understand the tests and stuff you are going through, but I did pray for you.
Well, I took 20 mg Celexa for about two weeks and then started to feel better. Then my doctor moved me up to 40 and I felt even better. But when I tried 60mg I felt sick immediately (like I had the flu) so I stopped. I really found Celexa better than any of the other antidepressants I had tried in years... If I were you I would try and stick with it for awhile. I think it has helped me quite a bit.

Hi there .. I'm up late (for me at least) and just wanted to pop in and say hello .. I don't have any answers to any of your ?'s but want you to know that your post sounds more upbeat and while reading it I can tell you are feeling a tad bit better so I'd continue with the med for awhile before considering stopping it .. see how it goes maybe ? You sound alot better believe it or not!
