Total thyroid removal and metabolism

If you have no thyroid can you still increase your metabolism by eating more often and excercising. etc..  I've tried looking online but can find no answers. I would think that my metabolism would pretty much be a constant because the Synthroid keeps it regulated. I gained so much weight right away after the thyroid removal that it's frustrating. Six months later now I think they're starting to figure out the right dose  (200mcg)  Just wondering if there's anything I can do to help my metabolism along now, or if it's gonna be set by the Synthroid.    Just curious if anyone knows... Thanks.

I gained weight after my tt-(about 10 pounds) I am now on my correct dose of synthroid and have lost weight on weight watchers.  I eat every few hours or so, but choose foods that are good.  The first week I lost 4 pounds and in the following two weeks I lost 3 more.  I am very happy with that since I only have about 5 more to go.

Good Question!  I don't have the answer, but am curious if someone does.  I gained a lot of weight with my removal and can't seem to lose weight.  I would love to see if someone has been successful and how.
