Treatment for Hashimoto's and thyroid cancer questions

I am having difficulties finding treatment for my recent diagnosis of Hashimoto's.  I have struggled for years with thyroid symptoms but because my TSH levels were and still are normal, it was never found.  However my new doctor ran tests and here are my recent lab results:

1/21/10

Thyroglobulin Antibodies  63
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies  35
Calcium 9
C reactive protein 1.23
T4 free 1.2
TSH 3rd gen 1.71
Copper 231
Vit b12 330
Glucose 99
SED rate 6

They were ran again on  3/1/10

Thyroglobulin Antibodies  66
Thyroid Peroxidase Antibodies  27.1
Calcium 9.3
C reactive protein .5
T4 free .7
TSH 3rd gen 1.99
Copper 144
Vit b12 334
Glucose 100
Vit D. 28
SED rate 10

I see that my peroxidase levels lowered below 30.  My lab papers say that Hashimoto's is >30.  Does this mean that I don't have Hashimoto's?  I know it is still high though.

I was prescribed 50,000 units of Vit D a week for 10 weeks and began feeling a little better after about 3 weeks.  Still very weak, tired, and sensitivity to cold.

What is the likelyhood that Hashimoto's  will turn into thyroid cancer?  I know my SED rate is currently in normal limits.

Should I be on meds for Hashimoto's with my levels?  My doctors said that they don't prescribe anything for my levels, but I have found research supporting small doses of levothyroxin can stop Hashimoto's from completely destroying the thyroid.  What about Armour?  Does that help?

I'm not satisfied in accepting that this is going to be my baseline for the rest of my life.  I am active, still fairly young, and this disease is slowing me down and making me feel AWFUL!  I would like to be treated if it will help!

What should I expect, long term, with Hashimoto's?

Any endo who treats TSH and not symptoms and the FreeT4/T3 should be FIRED!
TSH is a pituitary hormone, not a thyroid hormone.

This site lists recommended endos. Many of us with Hashi should have your Frees in the top 1/3 of the range. You are bottomed out on FT4. Shame on your doctor for not testing and treating the FT3!

This site lists recommended endos. Call the nurse and ask if the doctor treats symptoms and frees. Then, you've found a good endo.

FT4 looks low to me, plus you feel hypo. Hashi's will usually, sooner or later cause hypo...sounds like you're already feeling it.was your FT3 looked at? Maybe ask for that.i would ask for a small dose of T4 at this point.you can at least see if it helps you feel any better..good luck, hope you find the help you need :-)
