Tyroid and Fibromyalgia??

Hello,
I was extremely ill 2 yrs ago and the Doctors ran lots and lots of tests but could not find what was wrong... I was in horrible pain in all my joints, swelling in the joints and my face looked like it was ready to explode!! I was being pushed around in a wheelchair... I then started losing my vision... It was kinda like looking thru oil in water... I was scared to death!!!
My husband and I were driving home and it was like a light bulb went off in my head... but I am sure it was my guardian angel!! THYROID!!! I turned to my husband and asked him what the thyroid does and he didn't have a clue... Once we got home I pulled it up on the web and there it was!!! I had EVERY symptom there was, well all but one...
I went into my Dr and said I want you to run a thyroid test on me... He said "what makes you think it's your thyroid??" I laid down a piece of paper with all of the symptoms I had been complaining about and he agreed to run the test...
The results came back and he was in shock!!! He said " You have absolutely NO THYROXINE in your body!! " I guess it was off the charts... I was actually in a myxedema coma!!!
Well, now that we know what's going on, I was sent to an Endocrinologist and he confirmed the severity of my thyroid...
NOW, I have been diagnosed with Severe Fibromyalgia... Is there a connection between the two of these? I don't know how long it had been that my thyroid quit working but as ill as I was, it didn't happen overnight... But, as I said, now I have been diagnosed with fibro and I am in horrible pain and horrible fatigue all the time... So many of the symptoms I have is so much like when I was so sick with hypothyroidism... I cannot help but think there is a link somehow, somewhere between the two of these...
Also, when I went to see the rheumatologist, he asked me WHY my thyroid quit? He said it doesn't just " Quit"... there has to be a reason...
I don't have this reason... this is really bothering me since he said that... I had a sonogram done and there was no cancer... but, WHY did my thyroid quit???
Thanks to all that may help me with my questions...
Sincerely
Mandy

Thank you so much for your reply to my question... I will do some research on the Isogenix... I agree with you that if something works for someone, it should be shared so maybe it can help another!!
Good luck with your health!! I wish you all the best!!!

I can't tell you the connection between the thyroid and fibromyalgia, as I'm still learning about the connection between the 2...but I've recently had some of the pain you're going through and can sympathize...I think mine is just hypothyroid, but hope to find out soon.

I do know someone who has suffered with fibro and with migraines and although I have not bought, nor do I sell this product, a work friend has suffered, and I've seen the difference--she swears by Isogenix.  It's a product that flushes toxins from the body.  I haven't tried it, as I've said, but I'm about this close--to trying it. My work associate hasn't had the migraines or pain associated with her fibromyalgia in nearly a year--since she started Isogenix.

Gogle it and see for yourself...I'm certainly not endorsing or trying to sell a product but I have seen/heard the changes this woman has had and it is amazing.  If someone else can find a relief and/or cure, then I should share the news.

In any event, I wish you much luck and good health.  I really hope there is a healthy way all of us can overcome our health issues without having to depend on medication all of our lives, or in some cases, hormones...which I fear too many of us will.  (I'm already on estrogen hormones!)
