Underweight and hypothyroid

Is this possible?  I have had a low body temp upon awakening for over ten years.  Blood tests show im on the low-side...But I am completely unable to gain weight and I eat alot of food. What is going on with me.  I had estrogen dominance and I get inflamation at certain times....

This is a very old thread and lulipop hasn't been active on the forum since posting in 2008.  Unfortunately, we don't know how she turned out.

Lab results would be very interesting to see. Do you have actual tests results to post?

Symptoms can swing on both sides with thyroid disease but the norm is for hypo / weight gain, fatigue and high cholestrol levels. You on the other hand experience hyper symptoms as hypo patient.

I would like at 5'7 - 109 is tiny. Have you had a full physical lately? Knowing you are not PG - DO you keep up with your annual OB GYN stuff.

A blood panel would be worth looking into. getting a complete work up on hormones - cortisol - and Thyroid.

Some here - including me would welcome your situation - but most definately only on a temporary basis - I can see why you want answers.

Well, that makes me feel a little better.  I am 5'4" and weigh 118.  You might be right about the parasite.  I would certainly ask you doctor about that.

Well I cant lose much more and my appetite is voracious.  I get awful cravings constantly and even after I have had a very large meal I can feel hungry.  It may be parasites or candida also that is making me eat for two. Im totally not pregnant.  I want to gain weight because I weigh 109 and im 5'' 7

Are you wanting to gain weight for some reason?  I am hypothyroid and I have no appetite and would love to be able to enjoy food.  As it stands, I have to force myself to eat just to have energy.  I wouldn't worry if you are not gaining any weight, just worry if you start losing it.
