Unisom and thyoid desease

I have read that taking Doxylamine (Unisom) lowers thyroid hormone output.  Has anyone had any experience with this? I take Unisom regularly as it seems to work the best out of all the other sleep aids.

I was told by my Endo, that it was ok to take Antihistamines for allergy's, I used to take Unisom for a sleep aide (Diphenhydramine)  although they no longer helped me sleep, I now take Lunesta#2 and I sleep ok, If you do confirm that Antihistamines affect Thtroid meds Please post what you find, I still take antihistamines for allergys, or if you could post where you read the article. I have a bottle of Unisom and the ingredient states it contains Diphenhydramine (An Antihistamine) not Doxylamine. Thank You FTB4

I have been on Ambien and other sleep aides prescribed by doctors and they never mentioned it interferring with my TSH level. I had a TT due to graves disease almost 15yrs ago. Insomnia was the only symptom that never went away...

Currently I am on Ambien to help me sleep, but I only take it once every seven days because it will not work if i take it more than that.
