I haven't been on a lot lately. I have my grandmother living with me now and she requires a lot of attention. I get on once in awhile late at night when she's asleep.
Happy thanksgiving to all. I am thankful that I'm really not crazy as I thought and that someone finally listen to me last year. I am also thankful for having a roof over my head, friends and family. And my medhelp family :)
What a day to be so thankful.
Be blessed my friends
Terri
LOL! Thanks, as always, for the chuckle.
Seriously though, thanks for the reminder to focus on what to be grateful for. Life - for one thing.
I'm a mincemeat fan myself (yes, that minority) - yum!
♦ Happy Thanksgiving to all! ♦
Hi there - long time no speak! We don't do thanksgiving over here as you know but just wanted to wish you and the rest of the friends I have made on this forum a happy one!
I haven't been here for a wee while - other pressing family matters kind of took over - but it's great to be back.

Bryan - I am speechless... your post is beautiful. Coming from a guy - that can say such beautiful things - is wonderful.
I am glad Cheryl Officially supported this as the Thanksgiving Day post - It is well deserved to you!
I was going to post some stupid Turkey joke thing. This is much better. :)
I am totally thankful for this day today - I started cooking yesterday for our dinner. First time in 6 yrs I really feel well enough to tackle something like this again.
Scott was in the kitchen with me while I was preparing the side dishes last night. He said - pretty unrespondant - "Thanskgiving is just another day to me."
I looked at him with no words for a moment and said back. "Really?" " I 'm looking forward to tomorrow because this year I feel strong enough to have it for you and the kids.
That's something to be thankful to me.
(Instead of fighting with him about what he said - I'll just spend his vacation check in the mall!)
#*^!$#^&* the bills :)
I hope everyone has a blessed day today -
Be well my friends on this day and everyday. Answers will come and we have such a great support system here - that just gives us more power to keep searching.
HAPPY THANKGIVING MY THYROID FAMILY - I COULD KISS AND HUG YOU ALL TO PIECES!!!
I'm thankful we don't do Thanksgiving here in Australia...hard enough cooking Christmas dinner in the heat let alone another dinner in the heat! AND the rellies Translation; relatives, those who we put up with only for the sake of hopefully being in their will)...oh who wants to see them all twice in a month!
BUT I am thankful I have a wonderful thing called the internet, without which I would not be able to research my illness, come here and chat to my friends, would not be able to converse daily across the other side of the world and still have money in my pocket to my darling man, would not have found my long lost best friend of many years ago...(yay! we are chatting today and it's like we never parted!)
I am thankful I can have clean drinking water, a place to sleep, and food in my belly when required.
I am thankful to be alive.
LOL!!
Too funny Lori. "I'll be shopping."
After tmM514 posted, I thought about replying that most of you girls would be out shopping Friday anyway. Hahahaha!!!
Barb and I will be cleaning house. We have company coming Saturday and will be having Thanksgiving Monday evening.
But I'm still getting pie tomorrow!!!
:o)
I'm thankful for good doctors, too. I'm thankful that I have two good ones in my community. My GP, and the head of the ER. I saw them both about the same number of times in '07. LOL!
I'm thankful I haven't see a doctor in a few months.
A lot of other things, too. Things could be better, but we have a lot to be thankful for.
Happy thanksgiving to all. I am thankful they found out what was wrong with me this year. I am also thankful for having a roof over my head, friends and family. And my medhelp:)
Happy turkey day to you too, AR - and to everyone else as well! Yes, we ALL have things to be thankful for. Thanks for the reminder, because sometimes it's easy to forget. That reminds me of a saying on one of the days of my perpetual calendar.....
"It would be nice if we could forget our troubles as easily as we forget our blessings".
I'll pack up that pumpkin pie and get it in the mail to you soon, AR. However, you'll have to man the trashing 'o doctors on Friday, because I'm shopping!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
Lori
Thank you to all you have become my friends and support system. Thank you to all the new comers who allow me to support them...when we help you we forget about our own aches and pains and dumb thyroids! Supporting others helps to strengthen ourselves!
AR- Amen....Amen...Amen!!! If we look around we can see that there are so many people worse off than us. I am thankful for what God has given me....good and bad alike for I have learned and grown so much.
I have friends that are over in India right now on a missions trip....and all over the news they are talking about all the terrorist attacks and people are being killed and injured. There are hostages being taken. My friends decided to spend there holiday giving of themselves....I do not know if they are in that exact area or not, but I am diligently praying for them. Whoever reads this please keep them in your prayers.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!
I'm thankful to always come back home to this forum! It's great to see so many new faces and see the oldies are doing well.
Enjoy the day and may each of you be blessed with a wonderful meal and a day full of good memories.
Teresa
Just wanted to give a little equal time to the good doctors out there - I have been very lucky not to have experienced the problems some have had with doctors.
This Thanksgiving, I am very thankful for doctors who know how to fix what's wrong, and who have the guts to try (frankly, if it were up to me to cut people open, we'd have a BIG problem!). I'd say most are very good at what they do. Too bad a few bad bad apples spoil the whole bunch.
Thanks so much for starting this. Every day when I'm "out and about", I see the trees, birds, flowers, smell the smells, etc and think of the song "I saw God today" - yep, I feel like I see Him every day and even though a lot of days I feel horrible and don't think my drs are doing what they need to be doing - I'm thankful that even as badly as I might feel, I'm alive and have high hopes of getting better and there are those a lot worse off than me (like my daughter who was, a few months ago, dx with lupus, living on prednisone, etc). I'm thankful for everything I have.
I'm doing the turkey tomorrow and thankful that I have the means and good enough health to be able to.
Happy Turkey Day too all!!
I'm thankful for each day I wake up and know I have friends like you all on this community!
And Bryan, it's okay .. this is the OFFICIAL THANKSGIVING DAY THREAD .. I've been rather busy the past week and unable to be on as much as I'd like and it's great to see you have started this thread!
Happy Thanksgiving to all .. whether you live in the US or abroad .. we are THANKFUL you are our friend!
C~
I am sitting here thinking how this forum was a life boat for me for two years I think. It has been quite a journey and I 'm not there yet. I am thankful for all you wild and wonderful travelers that are always there every morning while I drink my coffee and read and sometimes cry or laugh.
Have a great Thanksgiving Day!
Thank you AR for asking me stop for a moment and think about the things I still have. I have the health of my family and myself (cancer free, as of the last scan). We have a roof over our heads (albeit currently for sale...), and plenty of love to fill that home with. I can say also that we have family and friends whom we love, and love us in return. And there's always the future. Things will look brighter soon.
I'm not cooking the turkey this year. We're going to relatives. So the dinner pressure's off. (That's something to be thankful for in and of itself!)
Even if it's only this moment, right now, today... I did stop and "feel" thankful for a moment. And I "should" feel this way all the time, everyday. Thanks AR!
I'm starting to sound like that movie "It's a Wonderful Life..." (Doesn't that start playing right after Thanksgiving?) It is a secret favorite of mine...
Happy Thanksgiving all!
I suppose I should clarify my thought.
I'm not saying "thank goodness I have thyroid disease!".
I'm saying, be thankful you have a roof over your head, food in the kitchen, and friends and loved ones.
Count your blessings.
People are living in mud huts and eating bugs.
Be thankful for what the Lord provides you.
We can get back to trashing inept doctors on Black Friday.
:o)
