I read your story with great amazament. In 1998 I had a very bad pregnancy with my twins. I had them in 24 weeks. Literaly during the whole 28 weeks I was so terribly sick that I couldn't function. You describing symptoms very similar to mine. I couldn't walk up the stairs without being week and tired. I had tingling in my l toes and hands.I was falling asleep all the time and was getting paralised. The doctor told me that I have immune system illness called Guillain-Barre. I was give a week of immoglobulin IV treatment.
I  got better after theat but had a very bad tingling in my lower legs. Nobody wanted to listen to my story and I was told to take antidepressants because my pain in my legs is stress related. I am beginning to think that my ilness was thyroid related.
I do not have much trust in the doctors and I still think that is up to me to learn as much as I can about my condition.
I am glad that you found somebody who is willing to listen to you.

Hi,
For some reason, when I changed it to female it didn't work. I'll see if I can change it this time.

I couldn't take the T3 and still can't because of the Perimyocarditis. I was on Cytomel for a while but when I got diagnosed with the heart inflammationS, I had to discontinue any T3 supplement. The reason is T3 acts on heart muscle and my heart muscle and the lining of my heart are/were both inflamed - Perimyocarditis - it's a very painful condition.

When my cardiologist gives me the go ahead to take the Cytomel, I'll try it again.

I still have my thyroid. No surgery. No RAI.

Pardon me - I looked at your profile and I didn't realize you were males. Sorry about the honey thing.

Still we are very similiar and I am interested. I think you may hold some key I have been wanting to learn and the shotty doctors I had really ruined me. I only have an MD at this time - but he has helped. Friday I was Dx'd with a nodule in my left lower lobe. (I have no thryoid left due to RAI in 2004) so this left me stunned.

Did you have any surgery or RAI in your past?

Honey I AM LOOKIN IN A MIRROR - when I read your post. You and I could be twins. I to after 4 years of being treated with Synthryoid found no matter how much I was on - I was not getting it to help my body. I felt faint - dizzy- SWOLLEN (i looked PG for over 2 months. I blew up! Weak constanly which I believe muscle mass has been effected.  The pre-Myxedema coma thing was waas suspected with my new doctor along with a positive test of an allergic reaction to red RC-9 in the tablet itself. I felt dead already

Simply I could not convert T4 Synthroid in the vital T3 we all need to survive. I do not know what the actual causes for your symptoms but I can say as you get regulated on the Armour you will see them slowly fade.

Can't even tell you how my neck feels - nice to know there is someone who has it too. It seems like the last thing to go and the ichy ears. As you - all my problem are on the left side. not sure why yet - but I am checking.

WAY stay in touch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM me if possible.  I believe we may be able to connect very well together.  I still am just floored on your post.   Amazing!!!   It's me !!!!!!!!!!!!

What I since learned is that I had Perimyocarditis and NOT CHF or cardiomegaly or pre-heart failure. And that the Armour caused problems with my heart because of the T3's action on my heart. The Perimyocarditis was long standing and no doctor could ever discover why I had the upper abdominal bloating, the chest pain, the SOB, the extreme fatigue which the thyroid medicine didn't help, exercise intolerance, exertion intolerance, heart palpitations, flu-like symptoms, a dry cough, pitting edema, etc. It took three more months of horrible symptoms which were increasingly worse to finally get the correct diagnosis and proper treatment.

The numerous mistakes and misdiagnoses made by many doctors has cost me months of recovery and rehabilitation. I am still recovering from complications of the Perimyocarditis.

Not to mention being given a cardiac stress test when I had Perimyocarditis! I am thankful it was NOT the exercise type. I don't know what would have happened to me then. Any inflammation of the heart is an ABSOLUTE contraindication for an exercise cardiac stress test.

Through my thorough journaling and record keeping, I was able to see that my Perimyocarditis symptoms began back in November of 2005. And I do believe the Perimyocarditis is from severe, under-treated, long-term hypothyroidism.

My thyroid medication dose is so far beyond that dose of 112 mcg and my dose is still being adjusted.

I just had some more tests done today for autoimmune diseases. I've been tested before and they were negative so I'm trying to figure out why a doctor would test again.

When I was erroneously diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, I had every kind of autoimmune test done with all negative results.

I saw my diagnosis on the lab request slip:
Hypothyroidism
High Risk Medications
CHF
Weight Gain

The CHF is a shock. I guess when I see the doctor tomorrow that will be discussed. It's a shock and it angers me that my former doctor failed me. He neglected to diagnosis and treat me properly.
