Venora.....blister like sores

I posted this in response to a thread about the boil like things a couple of days ago...but you probably did not see it....

those abscess sort of things...you said you got them when you were hypo? I keep getting these "blister-like" things...they itch...ooze...yuck...they just don't seem to want to go away..have one on my right wrist...one on my left hand..even had one on my neck but it went away...wonder if they are the same kind of thing? they get better then sort of flare up all over again!

thanks everyone! as for the dermatologist...yes, I will call and make an appt. sheesh...yet another appt! who knows...shingles? it is more itchy and tingly than painful...I am leaning more toward the hypohell theory.,. and yes, most of us are immuno suppressed anyway, especially if we have Hashis or Graves (I have Hashis) so...I will have it checked out. thanks again.

So sorry to hear that you ladies get these things unrelated to surgery like mine.  My mom had shingles along neck into shoulder .. most painful thing (other than kidney stone) in her life & it finally resolved and never came back.

Did you know they now have a vaccine I think to prevent Chicken Pox from recurring as shingles in older people?  So it is something credible and extremely painful.

Does hypohell produce less immunity?  If so, I wonder if these things in ongoing cases that come and go with hypo are bcz the glands get clogged and body doesn't fight off the bacteria properly?

Shingles is also very (VERY) painful.  My cousin went through them (three times - so much for the once only theory) and they put her out of commission for weeks and she was on heavy duty pain killers.

I went through a second case of chicken pox (some doctors say it was shingles but I'll never know for sure) when I was 14 and I thought I was going to die.  Even bright light was excruciating.  Like every inch of my body - inside and out - had a migraine for three weeks.

As for hypo:  I had those blister like sores on my back, chest, neck, and face too when I was mildly hypo.  I just thought it was acne since my skin freaks out whenever I'm ill.  However when I was extremely hypo (75.9) my skin looked better than it ever has.

Another sign of hypohell??

I am not sure...I keep getting them...this website says a person usually gets shingles one time. see below.

One attack of shingles usually gives a person lifelong immunity from further attacks; fewer than 5% of people have further attacks. Scarring of the skin, which can be extensive, may occur, but most people recover without any lasting effects.

I also had this to happen to me and it was located all over my neck in the area of my thyroid.  This has happened once before my surgery and once since.  They told me that it was shingles.  I did not have any other places on my body.  My places was exactly how you described yours.
