WHAT IS NEXT

I HAVE RECENTLY HAD MY TOLD THAT I HAVE NODULES ON BOTH SIDES OF MY THYROID, I HAD BLOOD WORK THAT CAME BACK FINE. DOES THAT MEAN THAT MY THYROID IS WORKING NORMALLY?    I ALSO HAVE HAD PAIN IN THE THROAT AND WHEN I EAT IT FEELS LIKE MY NECK MUSCLES ARE STRECHING,  WHAT COULD THESE BE IF I HAVE A NORMAL THYROID, OR COULD I STILL HAVE  THYROID PROBLEMS?

Please find out from the ultrasound report what the sizes of nodules are as the nodules bigger then 2,5 cm can cause difficult to swallow symptoms, especially if located at the far edges of lobes.
If nodules are about this size they often visible during the swallowing at neck at extended position.

Thyroid labs don't always tell you what is going on with your nodules.  Many of us have had nodules and completely normal labs.  Have you had a thyroid ultrasound and, if so, do you have the results of your ultrasound?

The size of the nodules is important (they can get so large they start compressing structures in your throat - my daughter's was compressing her jugular) and some thyroid nodules can be suspicious (complex and solid nodules).

If you haven't had a thyroid ultrasound, please ask your doctor for one.  If you have, can you please post your results here?
