WHY am I not able to exercise, but I was able to walk 4 hrs/day last Feb.?

Okay like last year when I was able to walk up to four hours a day, my labs were not all that different than what they are now or what they have been in the past year.

I think the answer has to lie in your FT3 levels.  By last July, you were already not walking, etc., so we have no labs that show FT3 when you were walking and had energy...all we have basically is two "sick" labs.

There's not a lot to go on…nothing but TSH until 2/11.  However, looking at the TSH before 2/11, it looks to me like you might have been coming out of an initial hypER phase of some form of thyroiditis.  Your TSH before 2/11 was, by and large, low, but did fluctuate some.  If that were the case, then hormones from the hyper period would have tided you over for a while.

It may take you a while, as it did most of us, to find what works best for you in terms of meds, but both your current labs and your current symptoms indicate that you are hypo at the moment.

Have you ever gotten a diagnosis as to cause of your thyroid disorder?  Your antibodies are negative, so it's not autoimmune.  PPT?  DeQuervain's?  Silent?  Does your doctor expect this to resolve eventually?

I just started back on Synthroid 50 mg on February 15, 2012.

I know the FT3 is missing, my endo at the time did not find it necessary.

I was able to walk up to four hours a day in late January, February, and March of 2011.  Then, I was slowly having more difficulty and I stopped doing it.

By April 2011, I was not going on my walks anymore.

I just do not understand.  I have started back on thyroid meds, but I am not confident I am going to feel better on them and I have always been puzzled as to why I was able to do all those four hours of exercise then, but cannot even handle five minutes of housework now.

Any ideas?

What's missing for comparison in 2/11 is FT3.  There's no FT3 until 7/7/11.  Were  you already unable to walk or do light organizing by then?

Are you currently taking no meds?
