Weak legs still

Called my endo yesterday told him how my legs were still very weak, but all  he can say is that's not caused by the thyroid medicine.  I wasn't say it was caused by the thyroid medicine, I was asking if this is normal that I still have this leg weakness.  I mean I've been on levoxyl 2 weeks now.  He told me at first it takes 2 weeks for the medicine to kick in.  Well now he tells me 2-3 weeks.

Well I went to my medical doctor yesterday for congestion, flem and he gave me some medicine zpack for that.  I told him about my legs and he's having me get some bloodwork done this morning, not thyroid type.

I'm just worried about my legs.  I hope nothing else is wrong.  Does anyone else have trouble with there legs after the thryoidectomy and how long after.  My surgery was Oct. 23rd and I've been on medicine 100 mcg levoxyl for 2 weeks.  Endo doesn't want to do bloodwork till the 1st of Dec. then I will see him the 6th of Dec.

I had to go to Walmart yesterday, phone went out, as soon as I got to the return counter I couldn't walk anymore.  It's just terrible when your in a position like that and none of the walmart associates would help me.  I wanted one of those carts you drive around.  Finally someone helped me after 10 minutes of begging.  I'll send in a complaint to walmart.  Those carts are pretty fun to drive but I prefer my legs back.

Thanks for any info.  I think these boards are so nice, because Drs. seem like there in such a hurry all the time, like our lives are just another $.  Except for my medical doctor, he is wonderful, it makes me cry how wonderful he is.  He spends time with me and answers questions and doesn't do the walking out the door bit when your asking questions, he actually sits in his chair till I'm done talking, one of a kind...

Thanks.  Well my 14th day on levoxyl was good.  My legs actually came back a bit more, it was great.  They are still weak but improving.  Today is my 15th day on levoxyl and I've walked around quite a bit this morning.  They still ache but there's certainly an improvement.

I'm still having a problem with sleeping and congestion and flem in my throat but I don't think that has to do with the thyroid.  Though the flem started right after the surgery.  Maybe I caught something or my allergies are flaring up again.  We have lots of animals.  Well my ear nose and throat Dr. is fitting me in today around 4:30 so I'm glad of that.

Thank God for levoxyl, it seems to be working for me so far, but maybe it will have to be adjusted if I don't come around all the way with my legs.  My head gets real tired to at times.  3 weeks past surgery so I'm looking forward to getting back to normal, as normal as I can be that is.

Thanks.  Josi

I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I was dx'd hypo last May and sometimes my thigh muscles have felt a little weak. I was under the impression that I will only start to heal when the levels are good and then stable that way for quite a number of weeks.
I am fortunate to have several doctors who don't walk out the door while you are talking. I am sorry you have an Endo like that.
