What doctor should I seek?

Slight pain when swallowing... and what felt like swollen glands..

I went to my family doctor who did blood tests (results fine -- just high platelet count) does that mean anything to anyone?
- Sent me for a sonogram because of my symptoms.
- Sonogram showed suspicious nodule...
- Family doctor sent me to a surgeon for a biopsy
- Never saw family doctor again, but I have a follow-up visit with surgeon...
- Everyone talks about an endo... should I have seen one somewhere in these steps?

Weird thing is... after 6 weeks of struggling with all symptoms, I feel better...  (could be the regimen of advil)

Yes, I think she should see an endocrinologist as well, but if they want her to see a surgeon then she should see an ENT surgeon, not just a general surgeon.  That's what I was telling her.

ENT is ears nose throat doctor. Endocrinologists specialize in diabetes, thyroid disease, endocrine diseases. I would see and endocrinologist.

I believe his is a ENT surgeon...  well, the group he is in is anyway...   my family doctor referred me to him "it's a friend" I guess...

Biopsy was negative... although I have not actually seen the report... and at the time of my last visit, he didn't actually have the report in his hand... he only knew that it was negative... and as I was leaving, he told the staff to "get a copy of her report and put it in her file," which concerns me a little since his office is as busy as a McDonald's.

I haven't seen him since June 4th --- but I see him this Wednesday.  I will be much more inquisitive and will ask for a copy of the report as I may see someone else.

You could see an endocrinologist.  That might help, but he will refer you to a surgeon to talk about possible removal of the nodule.

Are you seeing an Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon?  If not, you should be.

Have you had the biopsy?  If so, what was the report?

When is your next appointment with surgeon?
