What does this mean?

Well when I got sick 5 years ago with this panic anxiety crap I had my hormone levels checked out and my cortisol and testosterone were higher than the norm. Just checked and read some of my blood work from 2007. Doctor never did any follow up tests with me though, and now five years later I have full blown hypothyroidism they just diagnosed me with! My antibodies they test you for 2 I was positive for one but not the thyroglobulin!

Hypothyroidism can cause an onset of Anxiety/Panic Attacks, I know because i have them. Do you have any recent Thyroid test results that you can post?? Many informative members can assist you better if you post your results with reference ranges.

Hi! I do understand your question! Its happening to me, more or less the same. Its horrible!! I'm 29, diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis 2 years ago. I'm using levothyroxine 75mcg and from last month to now I'm experiencing panic attacks, a lot of anxiety, insomnia, my pulse its faster and I have negative thoughts, depression. My last lab res. were good. Next week I'm going with another endocrinologist, because I don't feel good.

I don't understand what your question is.

The high cortisol and testosterone did not cause your hypothyroidism, though hypothyroidism could have caused the high cortisol, since the adrenals tend to try to compensate for low thyroid levels.

It sounds like you might have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, but we'd have to know which antibody test was positive - could be TPOab or TSI; though most likely TPOab.

In order for members to full assess your situation, we'd need to know what your most current blood test results are.  That would be for TSH, Free T3, Free T4 and the antibodies.  Please be sure to post reference ranges, too, as these vary from lab to lab, so must come from your own report.

Once we know what your actual levels are, we can comment more fully on your situation.

Also, please indicate if you are on medication, which one(s), at what dosage(s), along with symptoms you may be experiencing.
