What does this number mean?

TSH reading 0.186?  My OB/GYN sent my blood for testing last week suspecting diabetes, but instead is sending me to an endocrinologist because of my Thyroid results.  Blood sugar was within the normal range.  The endocrinologist appt is two months away and I'm dying to know what those TSH numbers mean.  Can you help?

TSH is the thyroid stimulating hormone in your body. this test number is the first thing used by doctors to see if your thyroid functions are normal or not. the normal range should be somewhere between 0.3 and 3.0 on most of the blood test reports (you should see the normal range on your test report, they are may be a little different).  Since your test result 0.186 is a little low, which indicates that you may have hyperthyroid, and that is why your doctor send you to an Endo doctor to follow up.
