What should I do next?

A brief history...1960's had 3/4 of my thyroid removed due to multiple nodules, put on iodine(I think), jump to now and I have 3mm pituatary nodule(not growing), multiple nodules on what is left of my thyroid with enlargement, been tested and retested and everything(T3 T4 TSH) comes back WNL.  However, I have trouble sleeping, dry skin/hair, loosing hair, early menopause, fuzzy thinking, headaches(migraines), fatigue, increased difficulty losing weight, muscle cramps and frequent muscle aches(on meds for arthritis), irritability etc.  All seem to be symptome of hypothyroidism, yet my endo will not even try a low dose synthroid. I am taking Diovan HCT and the few things I have read, say it can skew the results.  I am at my wits end in trying to feel better.  I know it is my thyroid, but cannot get doc's to listen.  Any advice?

CAn you post your actual TSH - T3 and T4 levels? Any antibody testing available or done on you TPO and TG?

TSH .568, T4(free direct) 1.17, TPO <10, Antithyroglobulin <20...I do not see the results of T3 or TG.  New to all this testing jargon!  So I may have missed something. Thanks for your help and understanding.  Sue

I am bumping your post up. Here is what I found on the possible side effects of Diovan HCT:

You may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, blurred vision, or tiredness as your body adjusts to the medication. You may also experience diarrhea, dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, or cough. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: unusual thirst, weakness, confusion, fainting, fast heartbeat, decreased sexual ability.

Tell your doctor immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: unusual change in the amount of urine (not including the normal increase in urine when you first start this drug), signs of infection (e.g., fever, chills, persistent sore throat), seizures, chest pain, yellowing eyes or skin, stomach/abdominal pain, dark urine, unusual fatigue.

An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling (especially of the face, lips, tongue, or throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.

I am no expert - but looking at your TSH only - you are on the lower side of normal ranges - which my be related more to Hyper T - taking into consideration of the blood pressure med ( which I assume is why you are taking the Diovan HCT right?)

Some symptoms you are experiencing could be med/ blood pressure related.  I hope others post on this since I do not have trouble with blood pressure.
