When Will period return

I was just recently diagnosed with a hypothyroid after missing my period for three months. My husband and I are trying to get pregnant and that's why I went in to get check out and discovered it. I have been on medication for about a month and was wondering when my period might return?

Depending on your bad your body is out of balance. It may take up to 6 months to see it return. Were you on and BC for a long period - that may also be why things are thrown off.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, all cases are different of course, but I haven't had a period in just under 3 years, however my TSH was 140.531 extremely high and rare so my body was and still is in rough shape hormonally. What was your TSH when diagnosed? and have you had your sex hormones checked?

Is your TSH back to normal level?

Your TSH should probably be close to 1.0.

everyone is different, but I imagine everything will get back to normal within a couple of months of getting thyroid levels back to normal.

If you get pregnant you need to work closely with  your endo because you will need increase in thyroid meds to maintain healthy pregnancy and for the well being of you and the baby.
