Worried Sick

by TINA454, Feb 09, 2009 10:18AM
I am a 35 year old female and I was recently told  that my thyroid glands were enlarged. I was then give a thyroid blood test . I assume the TSH test which came back normal. But I have some of the symptoms of a thyroid disease feeling sluggish, irritable, carpal tunnel. I was give a ultrasound that showed I had two cyst one on the right gland and one on the left and a small mass. What exactly is a mass? Does a mass mean cancer? How might I be treated for this?

Mass is the general term ;it can mean the solid nodule in your case.
Full ultrasound report [with dimensions] and blood test results can be helpful answer your question with better details.

No, mass does not necessarily mean cancer.
