Yawning...

Hi - I'm on 200 mcg levothyroxine a day. I also take the maximum allowed daily dose of Fluoxetine.

Recently people have started commenting/complaining that I yawn a lot and have started telling me I need to get my "energy levels" up. Whatever that means.

Has anyone else experienced this? Is it documented? Is it fluke?

One of the side effects of this particular antidepressant fluoxetine is excessive yawning.  Read the leaflet that comes with the medication and you will read it in the side effects section.

I realised it was an old thread but it may help anyone who reads it just as I did but thank you for your help.
We have a lot of people who don't always realize they're commenting on old threads so they expect previous posters to respond to their comments.  I wanted to make sure you knew it was unlikely anyone would respond.

You're absolutely correct that everyone should read the insert that comes with their medications to make sure they understand the possible side effects of all medications they take.  Thank you for that reminder.

Fatigue is a common symptom of Hypothyroid, yawning could also indicate a lack of oxygen or sleep apnea. You could post your recent thyroid labs for members comments.
