Whatever the outcome, it can be fixed. I also had a "multinodular Goiter" and the largest nodule was 3.7cm, solid and cold....had three biopsies and they were all benign but due to the type of cells that were in the nodules, cancer could not be ruled out, so a Total Thyroidectomy was recommended.
I had the surgery in December and my pathology report was benign for cancer..Thank God.
Yes, my ultrasound report indicated "peripheral calcification along the wall of nodule and some internal vascularity".
They also stated that "no goitre is noted" in the same ultrasound.
I unfortunately just found out as well that there is a history of thyroid cancer on my mom's side.
I'm going tomorrow morning to see an endo, keeping my fingers crossed.
Get the biopsy, the voice hoarseness is something to address. Also the rapid growth is a concern. The recurrant laryngeal nerve that the controls vocal function runs through your thyroid, it may be getting squeezed by the tumor, thus hoarseness. Can't say whether or not it is cancer, usually thyroid cancer does not grow this rapidly, but there is one rare type that does. Did the report indicate any vascularity or calcification?
Thyroid cancer is very rare, but nodules and tumors are not. Any thyroid problems will cause fatigue. Your thyroid problem is being addressed quickly. God Bless You and your family.
