absorbtion of thyroid medicine

I have been on thyroid medicine for over 5 years.  I have tried every combination. thyrolar, synthroid, (very high doses) armour. But it seems my thyroid is still low.  I am sleepy  and I look at a cheese burger and I gain 3 lbs.

Just recently I change doctors and she is more proactive.  She doubled my Armour 30 mg and then I took a blood test, my thryoid was still low.   I am now taking a compound thyroid percription of  75mcg of T3.    Is it possible I am not absorbing any of the t3/ t4 ? I   If so what is this called?     What can I do to get my body to respond to my thyroid therapy.

Thanks

My TSH was taken  a month ago while on 60 mg of Armour was It was.20. L
My T-4 free is .8  my T-3 Free is 239  both are barely in the range.

Armour   I believe that this contains both T3 and T4.  I take my Thyroid medicine in the morning, without vitamins, antiacids and any other minerals.  I usually don't eat for an 1-1.5 before I eat.

I have been switch to a T3 only.

As far as a detox, I have recently tried a colonic.... but I was told one every 4 Months is not enough.

Any other suggestions.

I thing a good detox regimen might help with absorption issues.  I remember at one time I saw a pill in my stool that I had taken that morning.  Talk about not absorbing!!  Anyway, I done a good colon cleanse and a liver detox and haven't had the problem again.

i don't know much but am learning.  Do you take your meds at the same time everyday and wait to eat at least 1 hour.  Do you take antiacids?  If so do you wait at least 6 hours.  Also it is possible that you could have absorption problems.  Has your doctor checked you for food allergies and I believe there is a disease that has asorptions problems.   I may be way off but hope you figure it out.  linda
