these labs were done last month.............
Have you been tested for vitamin D?
Hashimoto's causes anxiety and depression. Low vitamin D does also, and Hashimoto's patients are often defficient in vitamin D3.
Do you know what your TSH and Free T4 are currently? Until you get your T4 and T3 back into balance, you are going to feel bad, and part of that is depression. It may take a few months to get your thyroid med dosage correct, and then a few more months for symptoms to clear up.
The best thing you can do for yourself right now is get tested for vitamin D, and retested for your thyroid if you have been on the same dose for six weeks or more. Getting tested every six weeks while you are getting your meds adjusted is standard, and you should be doing it that often.
A TSH test, Free T4 and Free T3. Every six weeks until you see a couple of tests in a row come back looking good. You should get a copy of the tests each time, and learn where your levels need to be rather than trusting the doctor to handle it for you.
Best of luck to you, and let us know what you find out.
I hate that for you. I know that sleeping pills don't work for me, nor xanax. I am thinking that the hypothyroid problem overrides sleeping pills, anti anxiety, and after reading your post, antidepressants.
Are you comfortable with your dr? Do you feel like he/she is listening to your complaints? If not have you tried changing.
I sure hope you feel better. You will be in my prayers.
How long have you been on thyroid medication?
