bilateral supraclavicular fat pads

Anybody with hypothyroid/Hashi's ever have fat pads above the collar bones, in the area medically referred to as supraclavicular fossa? I've had these for 3 years, was diagnosed one year ago with Hashi's and it's not under control yet. They look like little pillows on either side of my neck. I'm only about 5 pounds overweight. The fat has now spread into the arm pit area. It's gross looking. I had them ultrasounded, and was told it is just fat, no nodules or lumps were seen. Anybody else have these fat pillows? Here's pic I found online of how it looks: http://www.pacificu.edu/optometry/ce/courses/22300/images/clip_image006_001.jpg

High cortisol (adrenal hormone) or high Insulin (regulates blood glucose) can cause this problem. You may also see a hump on the back of your neck.

Sounds a bit like Cushing's Syndrome.

I do have them! I was also diagnosed with EBV and Hashimoto's. Everything happened this year and I am on AIP diet and feel a lot better.  Got CT scan, nothing serious showed. All doctors I have asked don't know what it is.

I didn't know that high insulin could cause these fat deposits. I thought only high cortisol levels did. I am diabetic, but lately the blood sugars have been hard to control, dipping into the 30s and going into the upper 200s. I never had such variance before, and was always able to easily keep the blood sugars under control. Thank you for your input.
