bloatness after surgery

by lexie20, Nov 05, 2009 07:18AM
Had thyroid surgery Oct 16th, Cancers found were papillary and (follicular minimally evasive)removed lymph nodes.  Did something with prarathryoids also/  Yes I love salt, going for Radioaactive Iodine treatment soon.On Leiothyrondine 25 mg.  Started taking that 1 x a day now taking a pill and half a day after surgery.  Would take the 25 mil before going to bed, no problem, after surgery couldn't take it made my heart beat too fast.  Now take it during day, heart beating fast no longer a problem.  Headaches sometimes, if I take the med just before the headache starts bad usually goes away within a hour or two.

Now for the  bloatness, after previous surgeries, ovaries removed , I got constipated very badly, so after this surgery, got home three days after surgery, some fiber one, and some correctol, that did the trick..  Regulated that but this bloating is horrible went for a sonogram and a transvaginal yesterday.  Also went for liver blood work, slightly elevated but that is because of the weigh gaint my Dr told me.  We will wait for the ultrasound results.

Dont know how my body will react to this radioactive Iodine,.  We will see, but I am glad to see that other people have this problem, so I will have to do without salt my favorite  will (it is going to kill me lol), but if this is going to help with the bloating, then so be it.  This is horrible.  Cant wait for my body to get regulated, Can some people tell me how long it took for them to feel normal after this?  My coloring is horrible in my face,  My incision is wonderul, a little self conscious but it will get better,

And fo rall those who have had Thyroid Cancer we all should be Thanking God that is all that it is and people will other kinds of cancer are the ones that we should be praying for.  As my Dr says with this kind of cancer I will die with it but not because of it.
