calcified thyroid nodules

I had a fine needle thyroid biopsy 2 weeks ago, of two very small nodules. The path report says the nodules were calcified, and vascularized, but no malignancy detected. They recommend an open excisional biopsy of the thyroid. Anyone else have calcified nodules, and if so, what was your outcome? I have Hashi's, and several other autoimmune diseases.
