Will still be of interest. BBT is taken in the armpit, before getting out of bed in the morning. Be sure to allow enough time for the thermometer to fully stabilize. The normal range is said to be 97.8-98.2.
sure, not a problem.
although since i'm post TT, will my temp still be of help?
also, what is the best way to go about doing this?
Could you help gather information for this forum by checking and reporting your basal body temperature? I've found BBT to be very useful as an indicator of hypo t problems, but do not have any info at all about BBT with hyper t symptoms. Thanks.
thankfully no cancer.
i had/have (does it ever really go away?) a severe case of Graves Disease and a very enlarged thyroid. . .after weighing all of the options, where I am in life, when the hubby & I want to start a family etc. etc. etc. the doctor and I decided that surgery was the best course of treatment. . .
(there have been times during this recovery process that I haven't always been so sure, but all in all I'm happy with my choice)
What was the reason for the TT was it cancer?
thanks for the advice.
he didn't suggest anti-anxiety meds at all. which i appreciated. he looked at my numbers and said that they looked good, but gave me the lower dose to see if it eliminated the shaky, anxiety etc. etc. etc.
I'm supposed to go back to him next friday and have blood work tuesday or wednesday of next week so i guess he'll give me new numbers then & we'll see.
it probably is smart to take all of the .137 first, and then switch. . .I like your opinion/medical advice. . .you should start charging! :)
thanks folks!
I don't think a week will be enough time to tell if a lower dose is better. MAYBE by the sixth or seventh day, but I wouldn't bet on it.
You won't screw yourself up. The doctor may. You're supposed to tell him what dose you want?
Take the 137mcg. All of it. Then take the 150mcg. Tell him you want the 150mcg. Get your blood tested six weeks after starting that dose, unless you start feeling hyper.
Either your bloodwork will be good, or he will drop you to 137mcg again.
Just my opinion.
Not medical advice.
Just sounds that way. :o)
After I thought about it - I had to take a moment and think how you doc came up with that plan.
Usually in many.... many.... MANY situations a panic attack is looked at with anti anxiety meds instead of an adjustment of thyroid meds. Usually you get that check mark in your file on anxiety instead of thyroid dosage adjustments.
I think you may have a good doc! At least he's not jamming anxiety meds down you first. or did he/she??
I just don't see why he gave you the option with two different doses for you to "chose" to take without wanting to regulate a dosage first........... then checking blood......... then adjusting.
Odd 2 me????
You could but I would think almost a two week thing at one time would be better.
