If you are sitting at a long period of hypothyroid your body will catch more cold-infections and viruses - so your WBC will be elevated.
I am going to assume here that your immune system is running very low due to your body not recieving the right amount of hormone production - so that would cause you to feel sick.
it was taken about a week ago and i`m not sure of the result but they said it was ok???? i will def find out. how do i know if my thyroid was infected? i was given an antibiotic in the hospital but they didn`t tell me for what kind of infection???? it really didn`t help.
You should get your TSH checked every three months, six at the most.
Whether you need an Endocrinologist or not depends on how smart your GP is.
Your thyroid could be raising your white blood cell count. If it is swollen or infected it would raise the count.
When was your last TSH and do you know the test result?
