Hello,    I am new here.   From Dallas Texas.    

I am NOT switching medications,  but was curious to know if anyone has heard of anyone taking COW thyroid.  seems to be popular in the group that i admin.   Was just curious.

Hi Bruce... New, huh???  Long time, no see!!  There aren't any prescription medications on the market that are produced from bovine (cow) thyroid.  There "are" some OTC supplements available that have ground up bovine thyroid tissue.  By law, these supplements are supposed to have the actual hormones removed and are only supposed to contain tissue.  That said, there are a couple of supplements, that seem to get around this and are somewhat popular, that some people swear by.  Since I don't advocate self-medication, I'll let you do the research...  

Prescription meds are made from porcine (pig) thyroid.

Thats what i thought. Probably explains why this person has a ft4  of .7  and horrible ft3.  Do you miss me?  :)
