I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's in 2006. I have been on the WellbutrinWellbutrin Wellbutrin sr Wellbutrin xl the entire time. I felt great in the summerSummers eve anti-itch but over the past months symptoms have reoccurred. Dr. not much help, says it is not my thyroid, won't adjust meds eventhough I have an enlargedEnlarged adenoids Enlarged prostate thyroid and I am experiencing other symptoms. Switching doctors next week for sure, cannot live like this.
I was put on WellbutrinWellbutrin Wellbutrin sr Wellbutrin xl and just about had a nervous breakdown. My doctor had to prescribe ativan so I could settle down. I only took it for one day. he realized I was resistant to anti-depressants. I must have taken them all and they all made me worse. He then put me on adderall (adderrall) which is basically for ADD but it is also used for depression that is resistant to anti-depressants. It knocked my depression right out. I don't need it anymore. I take Vit D3 and it has helped a lot. Make sure it is D3 and not just D.
Sorry you feel sooo bad. I know where you are coming from. I was just diagnosised with Hashimotos less than a week ago. My labs are so called normal except for antibodies greater than 1000. I feel very depressed and am miserable from all the other symptoms. I'm not on any medicaiton for my thyroid though. I do take Zoloft which I just started back cause the first endo I went to said that was my problem. Boy was she wrong. Do you have a psychiatrist? My new endo seems to think most of my symptoms are due to my depression. I can't convince him that it is not. If you ever need to talk just send me a friend invitation and I'll do the best I can. Good Luck. Jessi
Thanks everyone! It is so refreshing to communicate with others in my situation. Others do not understand and that is tough. I am going to get some Vit D3 to see if that works.
Cheer up! Always remember you'll get better. I get that feeling too alot. You feel depressed and say I can't take it anymore. But you can.
I wish everyone here to get better soon, but it's good to talk with others in the same shoes.
I'd check on that Wellbutrin. It can make your depression worse.
I don't feel depressed right now... But if I don't take my thyriod medicine for a day I feel VERY depressed and then emotionally hollow the next day. Before i got diagnosed, I was depressed alot. I helps me now to know (if I don't take my medicine) that it's because my thyriod is low and that i am not just depressed. I hope that helps.
