I was diagnosed with Hashimotos about 3 weeks ago. & began taking lowest dose of Synthroid. 2 mornings in a row I had dizzy spells. 1st time I was able to drink some OJ and seemed to help. 2nd day went to ER, but left as symptoms went away during long wait. Is this a magnesium low or hypoglecemia? I am one of the few who hasn't struggled with weight issues before my diagnosis. (I'm 5'8" and 136 lbs). Also my T3 and T4sT4 test were ok at last test. TSHPituitary and tsh Tsh 5.5 and Thryoid antibodies over 1000. Anyone have dizzy spells with Synthroid?
Dizziness is often a symptom of hypothyroidism It takes the body a while to adjust to medication. You have only been on it for a short time. I would give it a couple of weeks to see if the dizziness goes away. If not, you may need to talk to your doctor about switching to another thyroid med if synthroid does not seem to agree with you.
