hi everyone im new here but have a question I have gravesGraves disease and I;m on 35 mgs tapazole a day Im reading everyones posts which most people seem to be on much much less like 2 mgs a day!!! has anyone been on more tapazole than that? im conserned, thanks
I was taking 80mg at one time, and then it was reduced to 40mg.
It took 80mg to shut my thyroid down completely.
But I was taking Synthroid at the same time, and the intent was to turn my thyroid off and use replacement hormones.
Your dosage may be dropped over time, but it is not unusually high. A lot of people settle in at 20mg.
Tapazole only comes in 5mg and 10mg tablets. Somebody must be breaking tablets in half. Doctors usually discontinue the drug if 10mg becomes too much.
