fatigue

In spite of a good night's sleep, I often want to fall asleep just after finishing breakfast. Three months ago my Doc started giving me B-12 shots monthly.  I am 68 and all tests indicate that I am in very good health.  For the moment, my only perscription drug is Evista.  Where can I go with this question?  Thanks.

Mental image:  a bunch of people sitting around an endo's waiting room, all proudly displaying "name" tags with their "normal" TSH on them.  All hypo, all snoozing, and you timing the whole thing!  Oh, and your name tag has your FT3 on it, and none of the other patients, nor the doctor has a clue what FT3 is..

Couldn't help but respond to your post.  The sleepiness reminded me of my only visit to an Endo's office.  He was one of those that keeps a lot of people waiting way past their appt. time.
While waiting for 84 minutes, I couldn't help but notice that about 3/4 of the people waiting were snoozing.  And they were not new patients.  This, plus my meeting with him that confirmed the usual approach of using TSH as the main determinant for treatment, assured that I never had another appt. there.  LOL

Did you have thyroid bloodwork done?  Free T3, free T4 and TSH?  If so, please post actual numbers and their reference ranges...that will tell a lot.  Are you on any thyroid meds at the moment?

Usually, fatigue associated with thyroid doesn't go away duing the day, but persists...although we are all different.  When I was hypo, I fell asleep anytime I sat down for more than about ten minutes...in the car, at the computer, etc.

Just after breakfast seems so bizarre that I concentrate on that.  Sometimes in the afternoon I am tired and I do rest so that is not terribly unusual.

Is it just after breakfast that you want to fall asleep, or does it last throughout the day?

What's Evista?  And when do you take it?
