female hair loss, high tsh

i just had a full thyroid panel done.  i am a female in my early 20's, but have been battling with moderately thinning hair and pretty bad fatigue.  My t3 and t4 are within the normal range, but tsh is 12.  could this be causing my symptoms?  is it extreme enough for a doctor to prescribe meds to me?

The quick and simple answer to your question is absolutely.  The range for TSH should be  .3-3.0.  Didn't your doctor say anything about your TSH level?  Sounds like you need to find a good thyroid doctor and get the help you need.  Take the time and read about this problem on the Health Pages link in the upper right corner.
