fine needle aspiration of thyroid nodule by ultasound

can anyone tell about a ulstrasound fine needle aspiration of thyroid nodule. i was recdently dx with multinodule of the thytoid.

I also just had one last Thursday, and I agree with juliva.  It took about 15 to 20 min. for just one nodule to be tested. Could be longer with more nodules.  It just pinched some when he put in the needle in (my doc didn't numb me) and then some pressure. He took (3) samples.  He gave me some ice to put on and that was it.  That was the easy part, the hard part is waiting for the results!! LOL

I've had a NB guided by ultrasound 3 times the last time was about 2 weeks ago. It's really not so bad. It helps if you have someone that has done a few and it will be a breeze. They numb you up so there is really not much feeling just a little pressure now and then I found. I think it sounds more scary then it really is. Good Luck!
