fna suggestive of follicle neoplasm

by thyroidian, Jun 27, 2009 01:49AM
please can anyone be greatful to help me.   i had a subtotal thyroidectomy in 1998 due to thyrotoxicycosis. i have taken thyroxine for the past eleven years. then this year i developed a lump in my neck which is causing me swallowing and choking symptoms and also frquent neck and jaw pain. my voice as gone all hoarse and i have to keep clearing my throat to speak. i have had a FNA and the results are SUGGESTIVE OF FOLLICLE NEOPLASM. my consultant sent me to see a surgeon who says he isnt going to operate .i think he his scared of cutting my vocal cords. and now my endo says there is nothing more he can do for me. please could anyone enlighten me what i should do so i can have this problem sorted as i am having some real difficulties in my throat and its like they dont want to help me. is it because i have had previous surgery? PLEASE HELP. im in the uk. thank you thyroidian.x
