frequent menstrual cycles + high TPO levels

by liriodendron, Aug 15, 2009 03:08PM
I have been on 50 mcg of Synthroid for a little over 3 months and have started having irregular periods. I used to get my period about every 30 days. This past month my cycle was only 25 days. The month before that it was almost normal at 29 days. The month prior it was at 26 days. I'm trying to conceive and this is making things really difficult. Is there any information about how long it will take my cycle to regulate after starting on Synthroid? And does Synthroid ever stop ovulation? I'm having a few other annoying symptoms (occasional nervousness/anxiety problems at night if I can't fall asleep, slight lump/soreness in my throat, some hair loss), but most of the time I feel pretty good. My TSH was 1.5 after 6 weeks on Synthroid, so my doctor feels I'm on the right track with my meds. TSH was between 4.5 and 5.1 before starting on Synthroid and my TPO was at 149. TPO only went down to 133 after 6 weeks. How long does it take for the TPO to come down to the normal below 30 level?
