gbecka's post

This was gbecka's comment at the bottom of Justicemom's original post- I though maybe some of the girls could help her out a bit with a bit of our stories or things that helped us.
  gbacka's post-
Had a partial on 03/28 and I have never felt so **** in my life, prior to surgery thyroid was within normal range but now throid not working gp is doing bloods every few days to see if levels bounce back up (gee I love giving blood). Today was an adventure as went to have blood test which is usually a problem as it takes so long as my body has never liked to give it up easily, but today I found myself in an ambulance to the emergency department as they couldn't stop the blood from flowing. (so much fun!!!).
Most of my days post surgery consist of brain fog, exhaustion (feeling like I haven't slept for a week) episodes of crying, hot flushes, night sweets, hair falling out as well as reflux. Am still unable to return to work and my dr thinks the earliest at this stage is mid may, am just battling thru one day at a time..

That's exactly what you have to do...Heck, my TT was on 2/14 and I still have to take each day as it comes...they are all different...

thanks all for your feedback, helps knowing others have experienced the same thing.  Woke up this morning and was back in bed 1/2 hour later and slept the day away.  Think I'll just start listening to my body and go from there

Hang in there gbecka- surgery is trauma to your body and it is going to take time for your body to adjust.

I too have lots of blood draws...they haven't been able to find my veins since my surgery on 2/14...I never had problems before...Yes, the blood draws suck.  There's no other way to put it.  Eventually, all of this will work out and we won't have to have the draws every few weeks...until then, know that you aren't alone!

I am 6 weeks post op for partial...I am just now starting to feel anywhere near "normal" whatever that is,.,,.I think I have forgotten. I, too, am still having constant blood draws to monitor levels...mine are going down! so obviously no synthroid at the moment. My symptoms go from hypo to hyper in one day...very frustrating. I was absolutely exhausted when I was at the same point you are post op...so hang in...it really does get better.
