by solly1953, Dec 31, 2008 06:47PM
my hair is falling out real bad. I have taken synthriod for over 13 years.I thought it could be from depokote. I have stoped taking depokote 3 weeks ago or at less 4weeks ago, and Iam still losing hair alot.Iam sweating off and on day and night.

Sounds like you might be a bit hypo. By now you shouldn't be still losing hair. Also I really don't think it is wise to stop your Depokote. Did you do this by doctor's instruction?
It might be best to see if your Synthroid needs adjusting. Get your levels checked.
Good luck.

I would have your levels checked again. I don't experience hair loss with synthroid. Good luck. If it continues and your are stable, might want to try something else;)

After 13 yrs on the med I agree the changes of haor falling out would now start.

Get your TSH Free T3 and Free T4 tests done again.

You are not balanced right in my opinion.

they discovered the hypo b/c of a bald patch developed on scalp, I agree with stella, get your levels checked regularly, I have been on Synthroid, over 6 yrs, and just recently they had to up the dose to .137mc/day,  since on synth, my hair grew back,

Pardon me for the typo in my comment.

My point I was making in the first sentence is "After 13 years of being on Synthyroid, your hair should not be falling out now. "

Sorry about that.
