hair loss

hi i am 29 years old and very youthful and feeling healthy 3 months ago i got a hair cut i noticed my hair had thined out and that ilost some hair . could see empty hair folicules so i went to doctor he tested my blood he said my thyroid was out of wack he gave me 100mg levothroxine i noticed hair sheding not excessively though for about a month and a half than sheding prety much stoped i have notice hair is starting to grow back but the hair i didnt loose about half is starting shink in diameter difusely ithink it is still growing is this just stages telogen efluvium or could the levothyroxine be shinking my hair or some how be converting testosterone to dht my parents never lost hair or got a thyroid problem
