happy happy joy!!

hi all,
I just wanted to post to say positive things.. every time i've been on here its been to moan about my failing health, but now i feel great :) i was diagnosed over a year ago and haven't felt well since i started treatment... but i finally feel good.

I kept increasing my t4 but just kind of felt worse. my t4 was coming back high normal and i felt palpy couldn't sleep and felt exhausted, my t3 was mid range, tsh rarely below 10. My Dr is old school and was just saying 'your t3 is in normal range you don't need extra t3' but then scratching his head and not understanding why my TSH was still up. then after some sersuaion we added in some t3 and bingo! i feel great!! My bloods say all my thyroid hormones are above normal range but my tsh is normal (a tiny bit low).... only have a tiny bit of tweaking and i reckon i'll be perfect!!

so if your feeling pants hang in there :) feeling good again is possible... if just t4 isn't working on its own despite dr's telling you all should be well, push for trying t3 as well, they're more accepting if suggest its for a trial period :)

all the best everyone, thanks for your support,

lots of love,
Owain

I am so pleased you feel so good after having the T3 added to the cocktail! I hear it time and time again, where the patient has weird T4's and T3's and then they finally get a bit of the T3 added and they feel so much better...now how do I get some?
Hee hee
Cheers!

just ask :) my dr was slighty 'oh well, we don't like prescribing it as it has such a short half life that you have to be very consistent with taking it.. blagh blagh blagh....' but i went to see a consultant and told them that i was keen to try armour and would but it myself, she wasn't very keen because piggy wiggies have diffenent t4/t3 ratios to us and also the dose can be hard to regulate (we've all heard it before..) but said if it was what i wanted to do then she'd support me, but why don't  I try sythetic t3 first as it would be free... so i did, and its all good..

so many people rave about how great armour is, but i wonder if that is purely because of the t3...???

i've read about t3 being trialed with success as a mood stabiliser for people with mood disorders (i'm a mental health worker) which is funny because i've also read of a study that looked at thyroid antibodies in people with mood disorders and found amazingly high incidence, like 80% of people with mood disorders have antibodies! (somthing like that..?)  so basically most people with mood disorders have thyroid trouble! wow! that totally makes sense to me and my experience of hashi's...

Hi,

I've also asked my consultant to supplement my T4 with T3 and I feel much better - "brain fog", lethargy etc seems to have gone, so I can vouch for it's efficacy.

Now all I have left to deal with is hair loss!

What I wanted to ask you was whether you found all of your symptoms were alleviated by taking the T3 (including hair loss - if you experienced this)? I have yet to get tested to see the actual figures, but this is the last symptom I want to get rid of....

Thanks,

Brianna
