hashimoto's treatement

hi,
i have a relatively high TSH (6.9) and a normal T4. I have antibodies that confirm i have hashimoto's. i am 37 years old. recently, my endocrinologist recommended i take 25 mg of synthroid to get my levels down, especially since i am thinking of getting pregnant in the next year or two. i would prefer to get my levels down naturally. currently i take supplements such as the b-complex and l-tyrosine.
could l-tyrosine help balance out my TSH levels? are there any other options for me?
also, if i do take synthroid, don't i need to continue taking it for the rest of my life? only symptom i'm dealing with now is fatigue, which is really becoming a bother.
i really would like to achieve health more naturally and would welcome any suggestions.
thank you.

Hi.  Afraid to say that if you have Hashimoto's then the antibodies continue to attack your thyroid and symptoms will just get worse and worse.  You will need thyroid meds for rest of your life...which isn't too bad considering you just replacing what you should be making anyhow.
What level antibodies do u have?
25mcg is very low dose compared to such a high TSH...seems to me anyhow.
There is Natural Thyroid Hormone available called Armour.

My results are very similiar to yours and I am waiting for my antibody results to come this afternoon. I'm not too good with the treatment yet as I'm not very experienced, but I believe the dosage of synthroid you are on is quite a low one anyway. But as I say, I'm no way an expert on meds, so wait for those to reply who know more. Good luck!
