I am sorry for your distress; I have been there. I had a thyroidectomy--both lobes were removed. From your post, you seem to have an overactive thyroid. I had autoimmune disease, a goiterChronic thyroiditis (hashimoto’s disease) Goiter Graves disease Toxic nodular goiter on the right side and a benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo tumor on the right side. I was also anxious about surgery, but I also was very concerned about the tumor which we didn't know was benign until after the pathology tests came back. I can honestly say I came through the surgery quite well, and have done quite well without a thyroid. My only problem now is getting my thyroid dose regulated, but that is nothing new for hypothyroid sufferers. I realize your thyroid problem is different from mine, and your surgery will be different from mine, but I do know how it feels to have surgery, and I do hope I have helped the least little bit.....
